Certain fractions of petroleum are defined as white oils or liquid paraffins. These are slightly viscous, crystalline in appearance, tasteless and odorless. They are very stable to oxidization, which cause low chemical reactions when used with acids and bases currently used in the industry.

The white mineral oils are considered the most versatile line of petroleum derived products and are used in a variety of applications.

The severity under which VASSA manufactures white oils satisfies the basic requirements of the FDA. These are:

COLOR: Most visible characteristic of a white oil. Its appearance must be as crystalline and transparent as water.

EASILY CARBONIZABLE SUBSTANCES: USP/NF grade white oils VASSA™ and PUROL - widely satisfy this specification, making them very suitable for use in the most demanding processes in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries

POLYNUCLEAR AROMATIC COMPOSITION (UV): To prove the purity of paraffinic and naphthenic oils used in the product formulation, strict UV spectra analysis are performed.

VASSA makes white oils with special characteristics using a modern technology of double hydrogenation steps. The result is a product that is suitable for use in pharmaceutical applications, cosmetology, in the chemical, plastic and food industries, packaging, among others.

The lines of oils VASSA™ and PUROL represent the pharmaceutical grade oils (USP/NF) which satisfy the FDA regulation 21 CFR 172.878 for direct use in food.

Technical grade white oils are fractions of petroleum, slightly viscous, crystalline, tasteless, odorless, and are highly stable under oxidization.

The Tecnol line includes oils of different grades of viscosity. These are widely used in the industry as lubricating oils and/or as bases in chemical formulas.

These oils satisfy the FDA regulation CFR 178.3620, so they can be used for indirect contact with food.
