The non aromatic oils of the VASSA LP Serie
are used in the formulation of fluids for oil drilling
muds. They are hydrogenated, obtained by a catalytic
process at high temperature and pressure. This means
that only saturated hydrocarbons of high and medium
molecular weight are present in their composition.
They are colorless and have a musty smell, characteristic
of saturated hydrocarbons.
Because of their purity, these oils have been classified
as "Enviroment Friendly Oils." As such they
are used in wells where there is a risk of contamination
of surface or underground water, or the need to reduce
the environmental impact in case of spills. Additionally,
toxicity tests carried out on these products show
that VASSA LP Serie are non-toxic, making them
a very low health risk.
Bioassays results, aerobic as well as anaerobic, make
them suitable to be used in certain off-shore operations.
VASSALP Serie offers significant advantages
compared to diesel based fluids. Among which are:
Prevent
environmental damage to the soil, flora, and
fauna.
Prevent
health risks to drilling personal.
Reduce
pollution of mud banks.
Reduce
the cost of cuttings washing.

VASSA LP Series oils for drilling fluids, are
produced in different grades according to their use:
VASSA
LP 70 and VASSA LP-70P are recommended for well
drilling in areas where the formations are well drained.
The low specific gravity of VASSA LP 70P allows
the formulation of ultra low density drilling fluids,
thus minimizing the damage caused to the formation.
VASSA
LP-90 represents the base grade to satisfy a wide
range of requirements in the petroleum drilling industry.
VASSA
LP-100 represents an intermediate grade to fulfill
a wide range of requirements under the most diverse
variety of conditions for drilling.
VASSA
LP 120 is adequate for the manufacturing of drilling
fluids being used in deep wells that reach a temperature
over 380°F.
